JuLee Brand has built a career at the intersection of design and storytelling, bringing visual impact to the music, television, and publishing industries. From album packaging to television branding to award-winning book covers, her work reflects a deep understanding of how design shapes audience engagement.
After moving from North Dakota to Nashville, she began her career as Production Manager at Reunion Records, where she oversaw releases and marketing for artists like Michael W. Smith, Rich Mullins, and The Prayer Chain. She then spent nearly 18 years as Creative Director at High Five Entertainment, designing show logos and motion graphics for major television networks, as well as packaging for musicians and bands.
Her passion for publishing took center stage in 2012 when she became Art Director at Hachette Book Group-Nashville. There, she designed and art-directed covers for bestselling authors such as Nadia Bolz-Weber, Karen Kingsbury, Brian D. McLaren, Naomi Judd, and Julissa Arce. Her work earned industry recognition, including an award-winning cover for Lauraine Snelling.
In 2018, she founded W. Brand Publishing, an independent hybrid publishing house dedicated to producing impactful books with compelling cover designs. Her mission is clear: to publish stories that enlighten, entertain, and connect with readers. JuLee is also an active advocate for independent publishing, serving on the IBPA Board of Directors and participating in multiple working groups focused on industry standards and education. She has authored two books to educate writers as to publishing options and tips on writing for the reader: OMG! I Wrote a Book . . . Now What? and How to Write a Book as well a memoir/self-help book and middle-grade series to publish in late 2025.
Brand also teaches Publishing Design and Direction at Belmont University in Nashville.
A firm believer that words matter, she is committed to amplifying voices—especially those working to break the stigma around mental health through storytelling. W. Brand Publishing’s mission encourages people to see beyond societal labels.
Based in Nashville, JuLee works from her home office, often in the company of her beloved fur baby. When she’s not designing or publishing, she enjoys exploring new destinations, indulging in full-bodied red wines, and finessing her nerdness. To her, gratitude is the key to contentment, and there’s always something new to explore.
